If things fall into place, newlyweds Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone could be seen together in a film once again after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s blockbuster costume drama Padmaavat (2018).
According to fresh reports, Padukone has been approached to do a cameo in Ranveer Singh’s forthcoming film 83, wherein the latter plays legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. The film chronicles Indian cricket team’s historic victory against West Indies in the 1983 World Cup final.
Reportedly, Padukone has been offered the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia. And if reports are to be believed, the Bajirao Mastani (2018) actress has given her nod to appear in the high-profile picture.
“Her role requires just seven days of shooting. The filmmakers believe the part where Romi Bhatia left the stadium mid-way assuming that West Indies will win the 1983 World Cup final, and the difficulties she encountered in coming back into the stadium when India was on the verge of winning, can be well emoted by Deepika,” reveals a source.
83, produced by Reliance Entertainment and directed by Kabir Khan, is set to release on 10th April, 2020.
