Wait, what? Ajay to have no heroine in Total Dhamaal?

There is no doubt that Indra Kumar’s upcoming comic-caper Total Dhamaal is going to be one of the biggest films of 2018. Starring an ensemble star cast of Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Ashish Chaudhary, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffrey in principal roles, Total Dhamaal is the next instalment of Dhamaal film franchise which began in 2007.

The film is going to be replete with many surprises for the audience and the latest surprise from the makers is that Ajay Devgn will have no heroine to romance in the movie. Recently, there were rumours that the superstar was recommending his Baadshaho co-star Ileana D’Cruz for the film.

However, a source close to the film has revealed, "There was no truth to the rumours about Ajay recommending Ileana for Total Dhamaal. It is true that the original script had scope for another actress besides Madhuri. But on second thoughts, the makers felt that it would be interesting to see Ajay without a love interest. If you see Dhamaal and Double Dhamaal, Sanjay Dutt's character too didn't have a leading lady opposite him."

Talking about the commencement of the film, the source added that the project will mount floors in December. "The team is currently doing a recee in Uttar Pradesh. They will start shooting in Lucknow tentatively on December 15.”

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is currently shooting for his next film Raid, which is also based in Uttar Pradesh.

Highlights:

  • Government to criminalise porn that shows strangulation or suffocation during sex.
  • Part of wider plan to fight violence against women and online harm.
  • Tech firms will be forced to block such content or face heavy Ofcom fines.
  • Experts say the ban responds to medical evidence and years of campaigning.

You see it everywhere now. In mainstream pornography, a man’s hands around a woman’s neck. It has become so common that for many, especially the young, it just seems like part of sex, a normal step. The UK government has decided it should not be, and soon, it will be a crime.

The plan is to make possessing or distributing pornographic material that shows sexual strangulation, often called ‘choking’, illegal. This is a specific amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill. Ministers are acting on the back of a stark, independent review. That report found this kind of violence is not just available online, but it is rampant. It has quietly, steadily, become normalised.
