THIS actor to play antagonist in Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi

Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of 2020. The movie stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles and Neena Gupta has been roped in to play Akki’s mother in the film. In every Rohit Shetty movie, the hero fights with a strong villain and Sooryavanshi won’t be an exception.

Actor Abhimanyu Singh will be seen as the antagonist in Sooryavanshi. Singh is known for his performances in movies like Gulaal, Rakta Charitra, Ram Leela, MOM, and others. Talking about how he bagged the role, Singh told a tabloid, “It began when Rohit sir saw my 2017 Tamil action-thriller Theeran, which was based on a true story. It was a big hit in which I had a played a villain with heroic shades. He liked my performance in that film and thought that I would fit the role of the baddie in Sooryavanshi. It so happens that I live near Rohit sir’s office and one day, he called me over and congratulated me for bagging the part.”

Singh has already started shooting for the film and he is all praises for Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty. He said, “It’s an interesting role. Akshay sir and I have known each other for a while now and it has been a great shoot from the first day. It was a serious scene and we had to complete it in a day, which we did. It was lovely shooting with Akshay sir and Rohit sir made me feel as if we have known each other for years.”

Sooryavanshi is slated to hit the screens on Eid next year.

Chetan Bhagat says fame in Bollywood can take a serious toll on mental health. The bestselling author, whose novels like 3 Idiots and Kai Po Che! became major films, explained that many actors and directors struggle when their work doesn’t succeed. “There are actors who, when going to a restaurant, if they aren’t recognised, don’t enjoy the meal. They wonder, ‘No one came to click photos?’ Can you imagine what a sick life that is?” he said.

Bhagat added that the pressure of attention and constant public scrutiny can worsen insecurity. He recalled seeing stars fade over time, their mental health affected by the highs and lows of fame.
