Third man charged in Southall murder of Sukhjinder Singh

A THIRD person has been charged with the murder of Sukhjinder Singh in Southall on July 30.

Detectives said Ravinder Singh Shergil, 30, of Colville Close, Tipton was arrested last Saturday (26) and charged on the same day with the murder of 33-year-old Sukhjinder Singh also known as Gurinder Singh.


He is set to appear in custody at Hendon Magistrates’ Court today.

Two men have already been charged with Sukhjinder’s murder: Amandeep Sandhu, 29, of Townsend Road, Southall was charged on August 7 while Palwinder Multani, 35, of Tudor Road, Hayes, was charged on October 7. He was also charged with assisting an offender.

They were remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey for trial on January 16, 2017.

Court allows Bell Hotel to continue housing asylum seekers after Epping protests

A HIGH COURT has ruled that asylum seekers can continue to be housed in a hotel northeast of London that was the site of anti-immigration protests earlier this year.

The Epping Forest District Council had filed a legal challenge to block the use of the Bell Hotel as asylum accommodation following violent protests in July and August. The unrest followed allegations that one of the hotel’s residents had sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
