Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap join forces for a supernatural thriller

After working together on Manmarziyaan (2018), Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap came together for a women-centric film called Saand Ki Aankh, which is currently being shot in Uttar Pradesh. Also starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role, the movie is based on the lives of world's oldest sharpshooters - Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar.

Taapsee, whose latest film Badla (2019) is doing terrific business at the box-office, has signed yet another film with Anurag Kashyap. It will be a supernatural thriller, a genre that the actress and the director have never explored before. The untitled project is expected to start rolling towards the end of the year. It will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule.

Confirming the news, Anurag Kashyap said, “Taapsee keeps me on my toes and is on a mission to make me take on challenges. I have never done anything like this before, so I am looking forward to it.”

Taapsee, who enjoyed working with the director on Manmarziyaan, says she knew she would collaborate with him again. “But I didn’t know it would happen so soon. We had been discussing stories and this one received a resounding ‘yes’ from everyone. I am looking forward to it as I have not explored the supernatural genre in Hindi films yet,” said the actress.

The film will be bankrolled by Sunir Khetarpal.
