Super fan of the week - Sidhant Gupta

ACTOR and model Sidhant Gupta has won over audiences with his work on film and television, along with getting admirers for his dashing looks.

One of his super fans is Aamna, who has been supporting him since the beginning of his career.

Eastern Eye caught up with Aamna to find out more.

What first connected you to Sidhant Gupta?

It was back in 2015 when Tashan E Ishq had just begun. One day, surfing through the channels I got a glimpse of Sidhant as Kunj Sarna. That role made me a fan. I can still watch the show 100 times with the same zeal, thanks to his charismatic screen presence.

What made you a super fan?

Kunj Sarna is the reason why I am a Sidhantian today. Sidhant played that character so flawlessly that I could not stop myself from fangirling him.

Tell us something super that you have done for Sidhant?

I’m not sure if it’s super, but I wish and pray he stays happy, continues to shine and is successful in whatever he does.

What have been your most memorable moments?

When he wished me on my birthday this year, as well as in the past one. How can I not remember those numerous ‘ssssss’ in ‘lots of love to you always’, with three hearts, may I add. He is super sweet and makes his fans feel special.

What do you love the most about Sidhant?

His calm and composed nature. You can see a small child in him. He isn’t someone who is pretentious. He is extremely down-to-earth and genuine.

Which quality in Sidhant do you most relate to?

His down-to-earth nature. He is always composed and consistent. What I love about him is that he is patient and always smiling. He knows when to speak and when to ignore public gimmicks.

What is your favourite work Sidhant has done?

Kunj Sarna will remain my most favourite and loved character played by him.

Why do you love being Sidhant’s super fan?

Each and every Sidhantian is a super fan. It’s our Sidhantians’ family and bonding that make not just me, but I believe all of us super fans of him, because we all want the same – to support him in everything and make him happy through our gestures.

Two Sinners marks Samir Zaidi’s striking directorial debut

Samir Zaidi, director of 'Two Sinners', emerges as a powerful new voice in Indian film

Indian cinema has a long tradition of discovering new storytellers in unexpected places, and one recent voice that has attracted quiet, steady attention is Samir Zaidi. His debut short film Two Sinners has been travelling across international festivals, earning strong praise for its emotional depth and moral complexity. But what makes Zaidi’s trajectory especially compelling is how organically it has unfolded — grounded not in film school training, but in lived observation, patient apprenticeships and a deep belief in the poetry of everyday life.

Zaidi’s relationship with creativity began well before he ever stepped onto a set. “As a child, I was fascinated by small, fleeting things — the way people spoke, the silences between arguments, the patterns of light on the walls,” he reflects. He didn’t yet have the vocabulary for what he was absorbing, but the instinct was already in place. At 13, he turned to poetry, sensing that the act of shaping emotions into words offered a kind of clarity he couldn’t find elsewhere. “I realised creativity wasn’t something external I had to chase; it was a way of processing the world,” he says. “Whether it was writing or filmmaking, it came from the same impulse: to make sense of what I didn’t fully understand.”
