Student Of The Year 2 movie review: Ananya Panday passes with full marks, but the movie doesn’t score well

In Heropanti, Tiger Shroff’s famous dialogue was ‘Kya karo yaar sabko aati nahi, meri jaati nahi’, then in Baaghi it was ‘Abhi toh maine start kiya’ and now, in Student Of The Year 2 it is ‘Din tera tha, saal mera hoga’. All these dialogues are quite good, but the problem is that from Heropanti to Student Of The Year 2 Tiger has spoken these dialogues in the same way and with the same expressions. But Tiger is not the only problem in SOTY 2, there are a lot more.

Let me start with the biggest disappointing factor in the film. Girls in this college are not eligible for the Student of The Year trophy. Not even a single girl from the school has participated in athletics and kabaddi. For our actresses in the film winning dance competition is the only aim. 2019, when girls are proving that they are equal to men and even better in some fields, we have Student Of The Year 2 where actresses just want to wear good clothes and dance. At least in Student Of The Year, though the winner was a guy, girls equally participated for the trophy.

Punit Malhotra has directed Student Of The Year 2 and he fails to offer us something new. The story is unimpressive, predictable and boring. Tiger is doing something that he has been doing since Heropanti, even the action scenes are repetitive and poor actresses are just loitering around Tiger Shroff as if they don’t have any motive apart from wooing him. Oh sorry, I forgot they want to win the dance competition.

When it comes to actors, Ananya Panday impresses us. She is quite good as a debutante and while doing comedy she proves that she is the daughter of Chunky Panday. Tara Sutaria also makes her debut with SOTY 2 but she fails to make a mark. Aditya Seal manages to grab our attention with his bad boy avatar. By the way, there’s Will Smith too in the film for like 20-30 seconds and we wonder why he chose SOTY 2 to be a part of a Bollywood film.

Coming to music, while Student of The Year had some amazing songs like Radha, Ishq Wala Love and Disco Deewane, the sequel has bad songs. Not even one song from the film impresses and will stay with you after you leave the theatre.

So, on the whole Student Of The Year 2 is about Tiger Shroff’s muscles, two dance competitions and one long predictable kabaddi match in the climax.

P.S. The best part of the film is the last song where we get to see our very talented student from the first part, Alia Bhatt shaking a leg.

Ratings: 1.5/5

Henry Cavill tops the betting odds to become the next James Bond

Is Henry Cavill the 007 fans have been waiting for?

The hunt for the next James Bond is picking up steam again, and this time, it’s The Witcher and Man of Steel star Henry Cavill who’s jumped to the top of the odds list. Bookmakers at William Hill now place him at 2/1, edging ahead of Theo James and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. But while the odds are shifting, the decision is far from final, and Cavill’s popularity might actually work against him.

Cavill’s name has floated around Bond discussions for years. He ticks most boxes: British, charming, good with action, and has proven spy chops in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., where he played the stylish Napoleon Solo. That film, originally based on a TV show co-created by Bond’s creator Ian Fleming, feels like a warm-up act for 007. Cavill’s calm charisma, tailored suits, and ability to land a punch and a one-liner make it easy to imagine him ordering a shaken martini, right?

Producer Namit Malhotra reveals how AI will make Ramayana resonate globally with native-language realism

Ranbir's 'Ramayana' will go global using AI, says producer Namit Malhotra

Producer Namit Malhotra is betting big on Ramayana, not just as a film for Indian audiences, but as a story that can speak to viewers across the world. At the WAVES Summit in Mumbai, Malhotra shared how the upcoming mythological drama, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, is being developed with a global ambition, bringing together high-end tech with cultural roots.

He explained that the team isn’t just dubbing the film into other languages. Instead, they’re using real-time AI to match lip movements to multiple languages, so when audiences watch it in English, Spanish, or Japanese, it looks like the actors are actually speaking those tongues. The idea is to avoid the usual detachment of subtitles or awkward dubbing, and instead make the film feel native to each region.
