'Strictly Come Dancing’: Find out what went down during week 4

During week four of Strictly Come Dancing, all the 13 remaining couples tried their best to impress judges with a variety of dance performances, from emotional Viennese waltzes to an intense paso doble.

Layton Williams, who is a TV and musical theatre star, and his professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, took the top spot on the leaderboard this week by scoring 37 marks. The duo performed cha-cha to Whitney Houston’s 2009 song “Million Dollar Bill.”

Closely behind them were former EastEnders star Nigel Harman and his professional partner Katya Jones. The pair performed a salsa and received an overall score of 33.

Channel 4 broadcaster Krishnan Guru-Murthy and his professional dancer partner Lauren scored 28. They performed on “Paso Doble to By The Way” by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Praising his sincere act, a social media user commented, “Krishnan is slowly becoming more of a dancer every week! You can really tell he puts all his heart and soul into his performances!”

At the other end of the scale was comedian Eddie Kadi and his partner Karen Hauer, with 24 out of 40.

At the very bottom was Paralympian Jody Cundy and his professional partner Jowita Przystał, who received a score of 19 for their salsa.

Yash says Ravana in Ramayana must connect with Western viewers as film eyes global audience

Highlights

  • Yash says he humanised Ravana to help global audiences relate to the character.
  • Asura designs in the first glimpse drew criticism for looking too Western-inspired.
  • Producer Namit Malhotra compares the film's tone to Lord of the Rings and Gladiator.
Yash, who plays the demon king Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says his portrayal was shaped by one clear goal: making the character relatable beyond Indian audiences.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, where the film was presented alongside major Hollywood releases, the actor said he worked to strip away the purely mythological reading of the role.

"I have tried to internalise the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times," Yash told Reuters.

"It is important for people to relate to him, and since we have global ambitions, we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well."
