Sridevi Death: Why is there a delay in repatriation of actress' mortal remains?

Bollywood actress Sridevi's mortal remains are yet to be repatriated to India due to the mystery surrounding her death. Initial reports that came out on Sunday said a massive cardiac arrest was the cause of death. But later, the cause was changed to accidental drowning.

Sridevi's body will not be repatriated until the actual cause of her death is ascertained.

According to a Times of India report, investigators on Monday questioned hotel staff and her husband to find out what caused the actress' death. Clearance for the body to be taken to India will be given after police officials wrap up investigations. “There are questions that we have after seeing the post-mortem report, so we felt we had to reinvestigate the case,” a source was quoted as saying by the publication.

Investigators have also sought Sridevi’s medical records from India to find out what medical treatments she had undergone and if this has somehow caused her sudden death.

Referring to the delay in sending Sridevi's body back to India, the Indian ambassador to UAE tweeted that in such cases “it does take 2-3 days to complete processes.” He also added that the embassy was in regular contact with the actor’s family to ensure that “mortal remains can be sent to India at the earliest.”

Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor's son Arjun Kapoor has gone to Dubai to be with his father during this difficult time.

Sridevi's sudden death has sent shock waves not just across India, but in Pakistan as well.

Pakistani film stars Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mahira Khan and Ali Zafar condoled the death of actress and said she will always remain in their hearts.

"So grateful to have grown up and lived in the times of Sridevi. Thank you for the movies, thank you for the magic. You shall live on forever... Great artistes... we cry for them without ever really knowing them, we mourn them because they helped us know ourselves," Khan tweeted.

When AI takes over podcasts human creators are struggling to keep up

AI podcasts flood the internet threatening independent creators and reshaping a $39 billion audio industry

Highlights:

  • AI can make thousands of podcast episodes every week with very few people.
  • Making an AI podcast episode costs almost nothing and can make money fast.
  • Small podcasters cannot get noticed. It is hard for them to earn.
  • Advertisements go to AI shows. Human shows get ignored.
  • Listeners do not mind AI. Some like it.

A company can now publish thousands of podcasts a week with almost no people. That fact alone should wake up anyone who makes money from talking into a mic.

The company now turns out roughly 3,000 episodes a week with a team of eight. Each episode costs about £0.75 (₹88.64) to make. With as few as 20 listens, an episode can cover its cost. That single line explains why the rest of this story is happening.
