Sonam Kapoor on 2 years of PadMan: Creating a movie around social issues has always had its challenges

PadMan starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte was surely one of the best films of 2018. The movie completes two years of its release today and Sonam took to Instagram to thank the team of the film.

She posted, “Creating a movie around social issues has always had its challenges. But as Padman completes 2 years, its been a truly humbling experience for me to play the part of Pari. Balki sir, it was a privilege to work with a leader such as yourself along with @akshaykumar and @radhikaofficial! You are and always will be an inspiration to me! Last but not the least, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Arunachalam Muruganantham, whose selfless perseverance for the safety of women in our country was simply extraordinary and I'm honoured that you trusted us to tell your story to the world. #Padman.”

Sonam Kapoor had a small role in the film, but she had impressed one and all with her performance. PadMan was a movie inspired by the life Arunachalam Muruganantham who had invented the low-cost sanitary pad making machine.

Talking about Sonam’s recent films, the actress was last seen on the big screen in The Zoya Factor which unfortunately failed to make a mark at the box office. Reportedly, she will next be seen in the remake of South Korean film Blind. However, the film is yet to be officially announced.
