Sidharth Malhotra starts prep for Captain Vikram Batra biopic

Last seen in the Neeraj Pandey-directed Aiyaary (2018), actor Sidharth Malhotra has a number of exciting projects on his platter right now, one of them being Dharma Productions’ next offering Shershah.

To be directed by debutant Vishnuvardhan, the film is a biopic on Captain Vikram Batra, who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his courage during the 1999 Kargil war. Shershah is set to hit the shooting floor in April and Sidharth has, reportedly, started preparing for his character.

The actor is undergoing a month-long training session to slip into the skin of his character. Talking about the actor’s preparation, a close source revealed, “Sidharth will sport different looks for different timelines of Vikram’s life. He has already spent some time with the captain’s family to know him better and is attending workshops to learn the use of military weapons.”

“The film will be shot in approximately 70 days across Chandigarh, Palampur, Kashmir and Ladakh, beginning with DAV College, where Vikram studied. However, it won’t be a marathon schedule, as Sidharth has to take a break in-between for the promotions of his next film, Jabariya Jodi,” the source added.

Besides Shershah and Jabariya Jodi, Sidharth Malhotra will also be seen in Milap Zaveri’s Marjaavaan.

Paul Mescal impressed McCartney during Beatles preparation

Paul McCartney has revealed that Paul Mescal surprised him during a guitar session while preparing for Sam Mendes’ upcoming Beatles films. Mescal, who will portray McCartney in the four-part biopic project, visited the musician’s London office, where McCartney attempted to show him how to play Blackbird left-handed. Instead, the actor immediately joined in and played the song perfectly alongside him.

“He came into this office and I thought, ‘Well, I’ll show him how to do Blackbird,’” McCartney said. “So I picked up the guitar and started playing… and he played along exactly. I think he knew it better than I did!”
