Shahid Kapoor: There are no problems, no fears, no inhibitions, and no insecurities

After his royal performance in Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor will be next seen along with Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Shahid will be essaying the role of a lawyer in the film.

Padmaavat which also featured Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has crossed the mark of Rs 200 crore at the box office. On being asked by a leading Indian daily to share his feelings about Padmaavat’s rising box office numbers, Shahid said that he is glad to be working at his own pace.

“The idea is just to keep going. Zyaada aage ki sochne ki zarurat nahi hai (There is no need to think too far ahead). I like to immerse my energy into whatever I have in my hand, but I’m open to new challenges. So, there are no problems, no fears, no inhibitions, and no insecurities,” he said.

He also mentioned that he never likes to plan, Shahid said, “I honestly feel that the worst thing an actor can do is planning, and that’s why I don’t like to plan. For me, it’s all about (taking up) one film and one opportunity at a time, so that I can go ahead, give my 100 per cent, see it release, laugh or cry over it, and finally move on."

Commenting about completing 15 years in the film industry, Shahid said, “Old photos of mine keep coming up on Instagram and Twitter. Mira often says with a smile, ‘This isn’t the same guy I married. So it has been a huge transformation.”
