Rimpi Das: Happy to be part of an amazing show like Mahakali!

After playing the role of Goddess Parvati in the Star Plus show Siya Ke Ram, actress Rimpi Das has been now roped in to play Ganga in Swastik Productions popular show Mahakali- Anth Hi Aarambh Hai, which air on Colors TV.

The actress is quite ecstatic with her look in the mega-budgeted mythological show and loves the way she looks on screen. “My look is just awesome and I am very happy with the costume and jewellery. It takes around two and a half hours to get ready, but it is worth it. Thanks to the hair, makeup and costume team, I look perfect,” she says.

The atmosphere on the set is also friendly, says Rimpi. “This is my first show with Swastik Productions. They are very caring and friendly. I totally feel like home on the set,” she adds.

The actor has been following the show regularly and was thrilled when she was approached to be part of it. “I have seen Mahakali from the beginning and suddenly one day they called me for Ganga. I remember my first reaction was, ‘Wow!’ I was ecstatic when I was approached. I am so happy to be part of such an amazing show,” she says, adding, “I am also a Bengali so Mahakali is special for me.”

Although she is fairly new to this industry, Rimpi has observed certain norms that are followed here. “I am very new in the industry. I have just completed two and a half years, so I can't comment much. But I have observed one thing that the people in the industry give more preference to realistic shows,” she says.

Ram Gopal Varma says ‘Dhurandhar’ being ignored by industry

FILMMAKER Ram Gopal Varma has said that the film industry often ignores pathbreaking films because it feels threatened by them, referring to the Ranveer Singh-starrer espionage drama “Dhurandhar”.

Varma said films that set new standards are often sidelined by industry insiders who feel unable to match them. He said this was the case with “Dhurandhar”, which is set in Karachi’s Lyari town and directed by Aditya Dhar, known for “Uri: The Surgical Strike”.
