CATHERINE, Princess of Wales, announced in a video message on Monday that she has completed her chemotherapy treatment and is now focused on “staying cancer-free.”

In a previous message back in March, the 42-year-old shared her cancer diagnosis and said she would be stepping back from her royal duties to focus on her treatment. The specific type of cancer has not been disclosed. In this latest video, filmed at her family home in Norfolk, the Princess is seen with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

“As the summer ends, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” Princess of Wales said. She reflected on how quickly life can change and how her family had to navigate “stormy waters.”

“The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. It forces you to face your vulnerabilities and brings a new perspective on everything,” she added.

She said the past months have given her and Prince William a chance to reflect on what truly matters, particularly love and family. “Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”

Catherine expressed her hope to return to public duties in the coming months but noted that her recovery would take time. “Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life. William and I are so grateful for the support we have received,” she said.

The Princess also shared a message of support for others going through their own cancer journeys. “Everyone’s kindness, empathy, and compassion have been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand.”

Kensington Palace said the video was filmed in Norfolk last month and included footage of the family enjoying time together, playing cards, and having a picnic. Her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, also appear in the footage.

The palace said the Princess is expected to work from home for now and gradually return to public engagements. Her next major event will likely be the annual Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph in London in November.
