Not Life In A… Metro sequel, Kangana Ranaut to team up with Anurag Basu for Imali

Yesterday, news hit the headlines that National award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut is planning to collaborate with filmmaker Anurag Basu to roll out a sequel to their 2007 film, Life In A… Metro. However, if latest reports are to be believed, the duo is indeed coming together after 12 years but not for Life In A...Metro 2. They are joining forces for a completely new project, titled Imali.

Described as an urban love story, the film will mount the shooting floor at the end of the year. The makers are planning to begin pre-production work by August. Currently, they are looking for a male lead.

“The prep for Imali is expected to begin by August but the film should roll only towards the year-end. The search for the male lead is on,” reveals a well-placed source to a popular Indian daily.

When Kangana was contacted for a confirmation, she told the publication, “It’s too early to talk about Imali as we are starting the film around the end of the year. All I can say is that Anurag is my godfather and everything I am today is because of him… I can’t wait to go back to the beginning.”

The actress, who is currently shooting for Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya in London, will shortly be seen in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Paramount's £82.8bn Warner Bros takeover clears US hurdle amid growing scrutiny

  • The US Department of Justice has approved Paramount Skydance's £82.8bn ($111bn) takeover of Warner Bros Discovery.
  • The merger would unite major brands including CNN, HBO, CBS, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.
  • State regulators, UK watchdogs and industry critics are still scrutinising the deal.

The proposed Paramount Skydance-Warner Bros Discovery merger has moved a step closer to reality after receiving approval from the US Department of Justice, clearing one of the biggest regulatory hurdles facing the £82.8bn ($111bn) deal.

The Paramount-Warner Bros merger, one of the largest media industry deals in recent years, would reshape the entertainment landscape by bringing together some of the world's best-known television networks, film studios and streaming businesses under a single corporate umbrella. However, despite the federal approval, the transaction remains under scrutiny in multiple jurisdictions and could still face legal challenges before it is completed.
