Mouni Roy bags a brief but pivotal role in Dabangg 3

After ruling Indian television space with successful shows such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Naagin and Naagin 2, popular actress Mouni Roy is doing everything possible to establish herself in Bollywood, and the best part is that her stars are favouring her in all her endeavours. So after signing Akshay Kumar's Gold and Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra, Roy has now secured a role in superstar Salman Khan's upcoming film Dabangg 3.

Earlier, it was being reported that Roy will have a prominent part in the third instalment of the superhit film franchise. However, if latest reports are to be believed, the actress will be seen in a brief but pivotal role in the movie. Besides Mouni, Sonakshi Sinha, who has been there in Dabangg and Dabangg 2, is also in the film and both actresses will have small roles in the sequel.

“Both the actresses have small roles in the flick. Mouni only has a special appearance, with screen time of just about 15-20 minutes,” a source reveals.

It is believed that Mouni will be seen in the role of Salman Khan’s love interest from his life before his marriage to Sonakshi’s character in the movie. “She will play one of Chulbul’s previous romantic interests who appears in the flashback scenes, while Sonakshi will reprise her role as Rajjo,” added the source.

Dabangg 3, which mounts floors in next few months, will be helmed by Prabhu Deva.

Kalki 2 continues to hold attention despite the long wait

Sequels often struggle to maintain momentum when production stretches over several years, but Kalki 2 continues to generate strong interest even without regular updates from the team.

Much of that anticipation comes from the world created by Nag Ashwin in Kalki 2898 AD, which ended with several unresolved story threads and set the stage for a larger cinematic universe. The scale of the film, combined with its mythology-inspired storytelling and ensemble cast, has kept conversations around the sequel alive.
