Luv Ranjan reveals his film with Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor not shelved

It was in May 2018, when Luv Ranjan announced his next directorial starring Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor. Moviegoers were super excited about the film as it would have been great to watch both the stars together on the big screen. However, the shooting of the film is not yet started and a few weeks ago, there were reports that the untitled film has been shelved.

Today, at the trailer launch of his production venture Jai Mummy Di, Ranjan was asked about his directorial being shelved, to which the filmmaker said, "It hasn't been shelved. The work is going on. There will be a proper announcement that's when I will talk about it." He further added that they should talk about Jai Mummy Di at the event.

There have been several reports about the female leads of the movie. It was said that Ranjan’s favourite Nushrat Bharucha and Deepika Padukone will be seen in the film. But reportedly, Deepika opted out of the film as her fans were not happy that she will be working with a #MeToo accused (Luv Ranjan). Well, now let’s wait for a final announcement about the movie.

Ranjan is known for the Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise, so of course, the question about Pyaar Ka Punchnama 3 was also asked at the event. The filmmaker said, “If you ask me whether I want to do part three then yes it is a franchise which has been popular and there is a scope for the third film. So we wish to do it but I have no scripts for it as of now. But in the future, we would want to do it."

Ranjan’s last directorial was 2018 release Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety which was a blockbuster at the box office. The movie starred Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Singh and Nushrat Bharucha.
