Karan Singh Grover dwells on the time he faced rejections

There is no denying the fact that today Karan Singh Grover is one of the most popular faces on Indian television. He enjoys a massive fan following not just in India but in several other parts of the world also. Grover is currently seen playing the iconic character of Mr Bajaj in Ekta Kapoor’s popular show Kasautii Zindagii Kay on Star Plus.

The handsome actor has been working in the industry for more than a decade now. He has seen several ups and downs over the years. Just like most of the newcomers, Karan Singh Grover too had a tough beginning in the industry. He also faced a lot of rejections before making it big in showbiz.

Talking about his early experiences in the industry, the actor said how difficult it initially was for him. “You know, I have been rejected a lot of times. It was not easy for me to get into the industry.”

He went on to add, “Like I remember when I used to go for TV shows, they used to reject me saying, ‘No, you have a very hard face, you should try for modelling instead. And when I used to go for modelling, they used to tell me, ‘Your face is very soft, you should try your hands in acting.’ And I used to feel like, ‘Oh nobody wants me’. So it took a lot of time for me to get zeroed down for my first show.”

Karan Singh Grover got his start on Indian television with Ekta Kapoor’s show Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi (2004-2005). However, it was medical drama Dill Mil Gayye (2007-2010) which helped the actor gain his footing in the industry. Gul Khan’s Qubool Hai (2012-2016) took his popularity to new heights.

After establishing himself as one of the leading men on Indian television, Karan Singh Grover made his crossover to Bollywood and debuted on the silver screen with horror film Alone (2015). He currently juggles television, films and digital.
