Jayne-Anne Gadhia quits as Salesforce UK boss

BRITISH businesswoman and top executive Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia has resigned as the UK head of Salesforce.

Her decision to step down from the helm came less than a year in the role. Despite her step-down, she will remain as an adviser to the business.

The American software giant said on Thursday (12) that Gadhia had quit her role in order to concentrate on her financial technology start-up Snoop.

She will be replaced by Paul Smith as Salesforce’s UK general manager.

The wife of Indian origin Ashok Gadhia was appointed chief executive of Salesforce’s British and Irish operations last year.

Gadhia said Snoop had “exceeded our highest expectations in all respects”.

Snoop links to bank accounts to manage expenditure and has received investment from Salesforce's venture capital arm.

The US company appointed her as its UK head in June, considering her strong financial background.

She had already been hired as an adviser to the American company before stepping in as its UK chief.

Dame Jayne-Anne helped set up Virgin Money in the 1990s before working at Royal Bank of Scotland.

She rejoined Virgin in 2007, oversaw its takeover of Northern Rock, and left in 2018.

Marc Benioff, Salesforce’s chief executive, said: “I would like to thank Jayne-Anne for her vision and passion in leading Salesforce UK and Ireland. “We look forward to continuing to work with her in her role as a strategic advisor to Salesforce and wish Snoop enormous success.”

The move comes after former BT boss Gavin Patterson was made chief executive of Salesforce’s non-US operations last month.
