Jabariya Jodi blocks a new date for theatrical release

The makers of the upcoming romcom Jabariya Jodi, which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra in its principal cast, have decided to push the theatrical release of the much-awaited flick by two months.

Earlier scheduled to enter theatres in the month of May, the Prashant Singh directorial will now buzz into theatres on 12th July 2019. “A surprise wedding awaits you on 12th July 2019.? See you guys at the cinemas!” tweeted Sidharth Malhotra.

Though the makers have not said anything about deferring the release of their film, insiders reveal that the decision has been taken to avoid a box-office clash with superstar Ajay Devgn’s forthcoming film De De Pyaar De.

Produced by Luv Ranjan Films and T-Series Films, De De Pyaar De also features seasoned Bollywood actress Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh in important roles and is one of the highly awaited films of 2019.

Jabariya Jodi is produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. The film reunites Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra after a long gap of 5 years. The duo was last seen together in Dharma Productions and Phantom Films’ 2014 offering Hasee Toh Phasee.
