Is Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai heading for a leap?

Produced by well-known producer Rajan Shahi, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai prides on being one of the longest-running shows on Indian television. The show premiered on 12th January, 2009, on Star Plus and has been entertaining audiences ever since.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has gone through a legion of changes since it first hit the airwaves. To ensure that the show keeps its viewers hooked to their television sets, the makers have introduced many generation leaps and twists and turns, along with a series of memorable characters over its decade-long run.

Of late, rumours have been doing the rounds that Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai was heading for a generation leap of 15-year. However, when showrunner Rajan Shahi was asked about the same, he denied the rumours. Replying to an entertainment portal, Shahi said, “Really? I think only me and my creative team don’t know this.”

Rumours have also been rife that Mohsin Khan, who plays the lead character of Kartik Goenka on the show, is still shooting amidst the countrywide lockdown of 21-days. "Mohsin has always been known to be extremely professional and is doing his bit for his popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. His brother is apparently shooting him at home. Once he is done with his part of the shoot, he will be sending it to the makers,” a source divulges.

According to reports, the makers of the popular show have been trying their best to produce fresh episodes for the diehard fans amidst this lockdown.

Filmmaker steps away from YRF’s action franchise

Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has stepped away from Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) highly anticipated action project Dhoom 4, reportedly due to creative differences. According to Bollywood Hungama, Mukerji’s vision for the film did not align with the studio’s direction, prompting him to withdraw from the project.

Mukerji, who was in discussions to direct the next instalment of the hit franchise—expected to star Ranbir Kapoor—was said to have limited control over the script, which was reportedly written by Shridhar Raghavan. The director, best known for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra, was keen on shaping the film creatively rather than simply executing an existing plan.
