Gold, starring Akshay Kumar, wraps up its Patiala schedule!

Biopics have become a formula for success in Bollywood. From top starts to newcomers, everyone is busy looking for that perfect biopic which helps them take their career to the next level.

After appearing in two successful biopics, Airlift and Rustom, megastar Akshay Kumar is now all set to woo the audience with his third biopic, titled Gold. Directed by Reema Kagti, Gold is based on India's first Olympics win in 1948 as a free nation.


The latest update on the project is that the film has just wrapped up its schedule in Patiala. Soon the team will start its next schedule.

Akshay Kumar shared his excitement by sharing a picture of him boarding a plane. He captioned the image, "Another fantastic schedule of 'Gold' ends in Patiala. So much love and warmth literally till the point of taking off...nothing but grateful."

Besides Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Mouni Roy and Amit Sadh in important roles. Produced by Excel Entertainment, Gold will hit screens on Independence Day next year.

Sweetmeats, a new play examining diabetes in south Asian communities, will have its world premiere at London’s Bush Theatre from 7 February 2026. Written by Karim Khan and directed by Tara Theatre’s Natasha Kathi-Chandra, the production follows Hema and Liaquat, two elders brought together on a diabetes support course. The play highlights both the health risks faced by south Asians and the rarely told stories of older characters on the British stage.
