Dhanush expresses excitement to be working with Hollywood's Russo Brothers on The Gray Man

South star Dhanush, who makes his Hollywood debut with filmmaker duo Anthony and Joe Russo's The Gray Man, said he always wanted to try his hand at foreign films but never expected to be working with the directors of Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Dhanush is part of an ensemble cast of the Netflix film, which includes popular names like Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Rege-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, Billy Bob Thornton, and Wagner Moura.

The action-thriller movie is based on Mark Greaney's 2009 novel of the same name and revolves around a freelance assassin and former CIA operative Court Gentry (Gosling). It follows Gentry as he is hunted across the world by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former member of Gentry's CIA team.

Dhanush, known for critically-acclaimed films such as Raanjhanaa (2013), Asuran (2019), and Karnan (2021), expressed his excitement to be working on The Gray Man. “It is way too early to talk about it. I loved the experience of working on it. It has been a very good learning experience for me,” the 38-year-old actor, who is in the city to promote his upcoming Hindi movie Atrangi Re, told PTI.

Asked if he ever had the desire to be working on such a huge project, the two-time National Award-winning actor said he was indeed keen on discovering new territories as a performer.  "I always wanted to explore new territories. But I was not expecting this to happen. It is an interesting opportunity, which might open new doors for me," Dhanush added.

The actor previously featured in 2018's English-language movie The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, directed by Ken Scott. Dhanush said as an actor, he is not chasing anything particular and believes in going with the flow.  "I am pursuing my career but where it goes is up to God. Wherever God takes me I go. I don't go after anything. But whatever I have in my hand I do it sincerely, and if anything happens as a result of this then I just go with the flow."

The actor lauded the Russo brothers for their incredible body of work that includes blockbusters like Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

"What they have achieved is so huge, they have done such great work,” Dhanush said, adding that he completed the shoot of The Gray Man way back.

Ranbir's 'Ramayana' will go global using AI, says producer Namit Malhotra

Producer Namit Malhotra is betting big on Ramayana, not just as a film for Indian audiences, but as a story that can speak to viewers across the world. At the WAVES Summit in Mumbai, Malhotra shared how the upcoming mythological drama, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, is being developed with a global ambition, bringing together high-end tech with cultural roots.

He explained that the team isn’t just dubbing the film into other languages. Instead, they’re using real-time AI to match lip movements to multiple languages, so when audiences watch it in English, Spanish, or Japanese, it looks like the actors are actually speaking those tongues. The idea is to avoid the usual detachment of subtitles or awkward dubbing, and instead make the film feel native to each region.

Instagram blocks profiles of Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in India amid rising tensions

The Instagram profiles of Pakistani celebrities like Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan are no longer accessible in India. This development comes just weeks before Fawad’s planned Bollywood return with Abir Gulaal and follows a series of social media restrictions tied to the worsening India–Pakistan relationship.

When Indian fans try to view the artists' Instagram pages, they’re met with a message: "Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content." No official clarification has come from either the Indian government or Meta, but the timing is significant. The move comes days after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region killed 26 people, most of them tourists. It was one of the deadliest attacks since the 2008 Mumbai carnage.
