Deepika Padukone was once asked to get plastic surgery

BOLLYWOOD actress Deepika Padukone recently revealed that she was once asked to go under the knife to attract the attention of film directors and producers.

Padukone, who is one of the highest-paid actresses in India, said she was asked to get a boob job.

In an interview to British publication Evening Standard, Padukone spoke about the advice she was given early in her career. She said, “There were lots of things I was advised [to do]. To get a boob job, do the beauty pageants. They felt it was the right way to be recognised or picked up by a Bollywood director or producer. It might be an easier way to achieve what you want to achieve. But I haven’t been that person; I’ve always followed my gut.”

Padukone also opened up about dealing with depression when she was at the peak of her career. Depression does not discriminate and Padukone decided to open up about her battle with depression to help others in similar situation.

"There are a lot of people who come and say that they contemplated committing suicide and after seeing the video interview that I’ve done, they actually understand what they were going through and their lives have changed. And that was the entire purpose of doing what I did. So I’m happy I made that decision to come out," said the Padmaavat actress.

Padukone founded the  Live Love Laugh Foundation shortly after her battle with depression to help people in similar situations.

On the work front, Padukone is yet to announce her next project. She was a part of Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film alongside Irrfan Khan, but the latter’s health scare has put the project on hold.
