Deepika Padukone considering launching a production banner

Buzz has it that Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone, who is riding high on the stupendous success of her film Padmaavat, is planning to turn producer. The thought has been there on her mind for quite a long time, but now she wants to take the next step forward and lay the foundation for her own production banner.

A source shares with an Indian daily, “Deepika is focusing on setting up her own production house. She wants to be associated with interesting and content-driven films. She will soon be donning the producer's hat”.


Deepika, who entered filmdom with Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om, has been part of some path-breaking films in her a decade old career. We are sure that as a producer also, she will always back powerful, content-driven films.

A survey by Top India, involving more than 1,000 people linked to the entertainment sector, shows many workers are either getting limited work or seeing their salaries drop sharply.

Many people in the survey said payments for available projects have fallen by nearly 50 to 60 percent compared to previous years. The money troubles come as the world deals with tensions and economic uncertainty.

Recent moves for energy savings and tighter spending across sectors have added pressure, with clear effects now showing in Bollywood and television production.
