COVID-19 positive Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan admitted to hospital

Just days after Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai with Coronavirus, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan have also been admitted in the same hospital.

The mother-daughter duo was tested positive for the Coronavirus on 12th July, as confirmed by Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope. They were self-quarantining at home, while Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were moved to the hospital. According to reports, they have both since been experiencing breathlessness and have been shifted to Nanavati Hospital.

On July 11, Abhishek informed his fans and well-wishers that he and Big B had tested positive for COVID-19. He tweeted, "Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID-19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you."

On Sunday, all the four bungalows of the Bachchans, including Jalsa and Prateeksha, were fumigated and sanitised. All their residences have been declared as containment zones by the civic body.

Jaya Bachchan has tested negative for the virus.

US president Donald Trump piled on criticism Wednesday of a decision to grant Hollywood superstar George Clooney French citizenship after a junior government official in Paris labelled the move a "double standard".

An official decree confirmed that the 64-year-old Oscar winner, his wife Amal Alamuddin Clooney and their two children had become French citizens, sparking controversy just ahead of language requirements being toughened for everyone else under new immigration rules from January (1).
