Confirmed: Jackie Shroff to play Salman Khan's father in Bharat

Actor Jackie Shroff has been roped in to play Salman Khan’s father in the much-awaited Ali Abbas Zafar directorial, Bharat. The film is an official remake of South Korean film Ode To My Father (2014).

Talking about Jackie Shroff and his casting in the film, director Ali Abbas Zafar said, "We met Jagguda in London and discussed his dates and looks. I have wanted to work with him for a long time as I feel he is the perfect amalgamation of a star and actor. I was very glad as Jackie sir instantly agreed with the story to do the film in just 20 minutes of narration."


After wrapping up the first schedule in Mumbai, the team has recently completed the second schedule in Malta. The next schedule of the film will commence very soon. Bharat will be shot across exotic locations in Malta and Abu Dhabi, besides Punjab and Delhi.

Aside from Salman Khan and Jackie Shroff, the high-profile movie also stars Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover, Tabu and Suniel Shetty. It marks the third collaboration between Salman Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar after blockbusters Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).

Bharat is produced by Atul Agnihotri's Reel Life Production Pvt. Ltd and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. It is slated to release on Eid, 2019.
