Colors introduces new Anandi in Balika Vadhu 2 promo; series to premiere on August 9

Colors, one of the leading general entertainment channels in India, has raised the curtain on the first promo of their upcoming soap opera Balika Vadhu 2. The channel has also revealed the release date of the show along with its promo. Balika Vadhu 2 will hit airwaves on August 9 and just like its predecessor, the second season also revolves around the social evil of child marriage.

In the promo, a woman in labour pain gives birth to a baby girl. The father of the girl is ecstatic on her arrival and so is his close friend who announces her to be his future daughter-in-law minutes after her birth. He names her Anandi which was also the protagonist’s name in the first season of the show. The next few scenes show a pre-teen child actor as Anandi who, dressed in colourful clothes, is dancing in the desert and then running around with a kite in her hand.

Colors began production on Balika Vadhu 2 last month in Rajasthan. The young actors Shreya Patel (Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha) and Vansh Sayani (Baal Veer) have been roped in to play the lead roles. The additional cast of the show includes Riddhi Nayak Shukla, Ketki Dave, Seema Mishra, Anshul Trivedi, and Supriya Shukla.

“While the soul of the project would be close to the original, it would be set in current times. The makers also want to address the changing societal norms and how it affects the younger generation,” a source had earlier told an Indian daily.

The first season of the show starred Avika Gor in the lead role. Later, Pratyusha Banerjee played grown-up Anandi followed by Toral Rasputra. The show also featured late veteran actor Surekha Sikri, Anuup Sonii, Smita Bansal, and Shashank Vyas on the cast.

Brooklyn Beckham told parents to contact him only through lawyers amid family rift

Highlights

  • Brooklyn Beckham requested that David and Victoria Beckham contact him only via lawyers during a period of strained relations
  • Legal letters were exchanged, though no formal action was taken
  • The request followed what Brooklyn viewed as damaging briefings about his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham
  • Both sides are said to be hoping for reconciliation, despite ongoing hurt

A breakdown that moved beyond private disagreement

Relations within the Beckham family deteriorated sharply last summer, reaching a point where Brooklyn Beckham asked his parents to communicate with him only through legal representatives. The request marked one of the most serious moments in an already strained relationship between the eldest Beckham son and his parents.

Sources say the instruction led to an exchange of letters between legal teams at Schillings, representing Brooklyn, and Harbottle & Lewis, who act for David and Victoria Beckham. While no legal proceedings were initiated, the correspondence made clear that Brooklyn did not want direct contact or public references to him from his parents, including on social media.
