Chad Gable wants to be known as Shorty G

Charles Betts a.k.a Chad Gable is an American professional wrestler, who is currently signed to WWE where he performs on SmackDown brand. As we are being informed by the recent WWE News, Chad Gable has rechristened herself as Shorty G. And this was confirmed by none other than by Chad himself. After defeating Curtis Axel on Friday Night SmackDown, Chad addressed the live crowd and the audience on Fox TV.

"I’m embracing who I am. We all have insecurities, every last one of us. But tonight I stand here to say you can overcome! Do not run from them. Do not hide from them. Accept who you are! I accept who I am! I’m Shorty Gable. Actually, let’s shorten that up. I’m Shorty G!”

This came almost a week after the King of the Ring, King Corbin called him Shorty Gable at Hell in a Cell on October 6, after defeating him to win the King of the Ring final. For all, we know Shorty G’s name would be coming into effect as soon as WWE will trademark the term. Apparently Shorty G would be Gable’s new ring name.

Although Chad is not too short for an average person, his height of 5 ft and 8 inches is not definitely not considered the tallest amongst the WWE wrestlers. Also, the built body framework of wrestlers makes him look a little bit shorter than what he actually is.

Charles competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He signed with WWE in late 2013. After completing training, Charles was assigned to the developmental branch NXT. Very soon Charles earned the reputation of a tag team specialist. He won the NXT Tag Team Championship with his partner Jason Jordan.  Charles finally got his first call up to the main roster in 2016. The duo again won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship before they separated in 2017. Gable was the second man to own the NXT, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
