Celina Jaitly set for her comeback

Bollywood actress and former beauty pageant winner Celina Jaitly, who has been away from the arc-light for more than half a decade now, is gearing up to make a smashing comeback to films.

The actress has given her nod to star in filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s second directorial venture A Tribute to Rituparno Ghosh: Season’s Greetings. The film tells the story of a mother and her daughter. Celina has been roped in to play the role of daughter, while seasoned actress Lillette Dubey will play her mother.


Talking about how she landed the role, Celina says, “I am extremely happy to be a part of Ram Kamal’s film Season’s Greetings because I have always considered him as a creative person and when he narrated me this story in Dubai, I had goosebumps. I knew that this film will be worth my time, as post marriage and motherhood I was looking for a subject that would excite me as a performer. Considering the fact that I have been associated with LGTBQIA movement since past 18 years, and Ritu Da (Rituparno Ghosh) being an inspiration for all of us, I feel that finally, I will be acting in a film that deals with this issue.”

Besides Celina Jaitly and Lillette Dubey, the film also stars debutant Azhar Khan. He plays the male lead in the flick. Produced by Assorted Motion Pictures and SS1 Entertainment, A Tribute to Rituparno Ghosh: Season’s Greetings will be shot in Kolkata.

Clooney speaks out

George Clooney has voiced support for actors Paul Dano, Owen Wilson and Matthew Lillard after they were harshly criticised by Quentin Tarantino last month.

Speaking at AARP’s Movies for Grownups awards on 10 January, Clooney said he would be “honoured” to work with all three. He added that he does not enjoy seeing people treated cruelly.
