Bollywood movies that had a China connection to it

In Bollywood, we have seen many films where countries and cities play a very pivotal part in the narrative. B-Town filmmakers love to explore different countries in their film and one of them is China. We have seen a few films in the past where China was not just a place, but an important element in the story.

Today, let’s look at the list of Bollywood movies that had a China connection to it


Chandni Chowk to China

Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone starrer Chandni Chowk to China was a big project but unfortunately failed to make a mark at the box office. However, China was an integral part of the narration and even the movie was shot in the country.

Tubelight

Salman Khan starrer Tubelight was about two brothers and how one of them has to go for a war. It was based on the backdrop of the 1962 Indo-China war. The movie also showcased the biggest stereotype that how North-East people are considered as Chinese in India.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi

In 2016 released Happy Bhag Jayegi and then in 2018 the makers came with the sequel Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. While in the first instalment Happy runs away to Pakistani, in the sequel, Happy runs away in China. Well, the sequel starring Sonakshi Sinha didn’t get a great response at the box office.

Paltan

After Border and LOC Kargil, JP Dutta completed his war trilogy with 2018 release Paltan. The film was based on 1967 Nathu La and Cho La clashes that took place between the militaries of India and China alongside the border of the Himalayan Kingdom of Sikkim. The movie starred Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Harshvardhan Rane, Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan, and Dipika Kakkar.

Made In China

Now, on Diwali this year, we will get to see a film that once again has a China connection to it. We are talking about Made In China. The movie is about a Gujarati businessman who gets a magic soup from China and sells it in India. Made In China stars Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy in the lead roles.

A song shaped by reflection rather than intention

For Dhee, Vari Vari was not born out of a deliberate attempt to move in a new direction. Instead, it arrived during a period of reflection that naturally began influencing the music she was making. Speaking exclusively, the singer described how many of her recent songs have mirrored experiences unfolding in her own life, making them feel more personal than planned.

That emotional undercurrent eventually found its way into Vari Vari. Conversations with lyricist Vivek (Vivek Anna) slowly shaped the track, which grew from discussions around love and human connection. Rather than following a formula, the song evolved organically and became a reflection of thoughts she had already been carrying.
