Our very own Devasena aka Anushka Shetty celebrates her 38th birthday today. One of the biggest names in down South, Anushka became a household name after starring in the Baahubali franchise. But, there are a few things that not many people know about her.

The Real Name

We all know her as Anushka Shetty, but well, that’s not her real name. Like many other actors and actresses in the industry, she chose Anushka as her screen name, but the actress’ real name is Sweety Shetty. Well, we like the name Sweety Shetty, we wonder why she chose to change it for the big screen.

Yoga Trainer

Anushka doesn’t have a zero figure like many actresses in the industry. But well, she is quite fit and we are sure it would surprise you if we tell you that she was a yoga trainer. Before becoming an actress, Anushka was a yoga trainer and she herself was trained by famous yoga instructor Bharat Thakur.

An Educated Actress

Most of the actors and actresses in the film industry are not much educated as their plan is to prove their mettle on the big screen. But you will be surprised to know that Anushka Shetty has a degree in Bachelor of Computer Applications.

Bollywood Debut

While we have seen Anushka in Hindi dubbed films, she is yet to make her proper Bollywood debut. However, back in 2015, the actress was all set to enter B-Town with a movie titled Juvenile which was to be directed by E Niwas. But unfortunately, the film didn’t happen.

With some of the biggest hits Down South, Anushka Shetty surely has a huge fan following now. So, the filmmakers too don’t mind paying her a whopping amount. Reportedly, the actress charges Rs 5 crore per film.

Theatre roots shaped Priyanshu Painyuli’s approach to performance

Before being seen in projects such as Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, Mirzapur and Extraction, Priyanshu Painyuli says his creative grounding came from theatre. He explains that his early years were shaped by stage performances, where acting first became a serious pursuit.

Alongside theatre, he developed a growing curiosity about how films were made. This led him to study filmmaking at SAE (School of Audio Engineering), where he began understanding cinema beyond performance alone. For him, acting and filmmaking developed in parallel rather than as separate phases.
