Bhoot - Part One The Haunted Ship first look: Dharma ventures into horror genre with a bang

It was a few days ago when Karan Johar tweeted that soon they will be announcing a new franchise of fear. Everyone was excited to know what it is and now, finally, we know that Dharma Productions has ventured into the horror genre with the film Bhoot. The first part of the franchise is titled as Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship.

The movie stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role and Bhumi Pednekar will be seen in a cameo in it. Karan Johar took to Twitter to unveil the first look of the film. He tweeted, “Presenting #Bhoot : Part One - The Haunted Ship! The FIRST in the franchise, starring the supremely talented @vickykaushal09, directed by @Bps_91. Sailing towards you on 15th November, 2019. @apoorvamehta18 @ShashankKhaitan @DharmaMovies.”

The first look is quite intriguing and Vicky Kaushal is seen in a totally different avatar. Dharma also shared a few stills of the film on Twitter. They tweeted, “A glimpse into the world of #Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship with @vickykaushal09! In cinemas on 15th November, 2019. @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @Bps_91 @ShashankKhaitan.”

When we heard the title Bhoot, the first thing that came to our mind is Ram Gopal Varma’s movie Bhoot which starred Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgn in the lead role. Well, the first look of Karan’s Bhoot has impressed RGV. The filmmaker tweeted, “Hey ⁦@karanjohar⁩ the poster is looking WOW! Can’t wait to see the intense ⁦@vickykaushal09⁩ in this genre ???” To this Karan replied, “Thanks for your generosity Ramu....Means a lot to all of us at @DharmaMovies #Bhoot.”

For the uninitiated, Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma don’t share a great rapport with each other. So, RGV praising the poster of a Karan Johar film is quite surprising.

Directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship is slated to hit the screens on 15th November 2019.

Burnham's moment: How Makerfield redrew Britain's political map

Makerfield proved to be the making of a new prime minister. This extraordinary by-election produced the pivotal moment of this parliament – while illuminating the challenges facing the competing political tribes now.

Andy Burnham ran as Labour’s candidate to change the Labour government – and its leadership, too. It was an unusually positive personal campaign – focused on his back-story, track record and commitment to public service, rather than attacks on his political rivals. His campaign messages - including “northern soul” – were rooted in the north-west of England, yet this often resembled an American candidate’s campaign. Burnham had somehow seemed to conjure up a midterm primary election to qualify to contest the party leadership, having nominated his home town to host it.
