BBC producer Nisha Parti's father dies due to coronavirus

THE “exceptional” father of a BBC producer has died from the coronavirus infection, it was confirmed on Tuesday (24).

Announcing the news on social media, Nisha Parti, the producer behind BBC2 drama The Boy with the Topknot, told people to “protect your parents”.

“This nightmare doesn't feel real until it affects you,” she said. “My exceptional father passed this week of the virus. We can’t mourn with family and friends or do a proper funeral, but the sun has been shining since he left us.”

Parti’s father had been admitted into hospital last week, although the producer had complained on Twitter that he had not been tested for coronavirus after showing symptoms.
