Athiya Shetty bags a new film

Last seen in Anees Bazmee's hit comic-caper Mubarkan, Athiya Shetty has bagged a new film, according to some reports. The actress has been signed for an untitled movie which will be produced by veteran actor, Gulshan Grover.

Though nothing much is known about the project, reports suggest that Athiya will play a young female football player from Kashmir. The film is, reportedly, based on football player Afshan Ashiq, who courted controversy in November 2017, when a picture of her pelting stones during a violent protest in the valley went viral.

Later, Mehbooba Mufti, the honourable Chief Minister of J&K, noticed Ashiq's passion and helped her fulfil her dreams of playing for the state. Today, the girl is the captain and goalkeeper of the women’s team of Jammu & Kashmir.

If the news of Athiya being signed for the film is true, it will be her first biopic. The actress started her career with Salman Khan Films’, Hero, which also launched Sooraj Pancholi in Bollywood. Despite being launched by Salman Khan, the actress has had a tough time as far as her career in the industry is concerned. Hope her new film turns her fortune around.

  • Bruce Willis has several critically acclaimed thrillers beyond the Die Hard franchise
  • Looper currently holds the highest Rotten Tomatoes score among these picks at 93%
  • 12 Monkeys and The Sixth Sense also rank among his strongest-reviewed films
  • The list spans sci-fi thrillers, supernatural mysteries, neo-noir and action films

Bruce Willis will always be associated with John McClane, but Die Hard is hardly the only place where the actor made his mark on the thriller genre.

Across the 1990s and 2000s, Willis moved between time-travel mysteries, supernatural dramas, neo-noirs and action thrillers, often using the same understated intensity that made him such a recognisable screen presence. Rotten Tomatoes scores show that some of his most highly regarded work came when he stepped away from the role of the conventional action hero.
