Anup Soni joins the cast of Prasthaanam

Popular television actor Anup Soni, who became a household name after hosting the long-running television crime series, Crime Patrol, is gearing up to work with superstar Sanjay Dutt.

According to reports, Soni has joined hands with Sanjay Dutt to play a significant role in the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit, Prasthanam (2010). Titled Prasthaanam, the political thriller stars Sanjay alongside Ali Fazal, Amyra Dastur and Manisha Koirala.


“Anup plays a family member to Sanjay and the two will be filming crucial portions together mid-July onwards,” a source reveals.

Produced by Sanjay Dutt under the banner of Sanjay Dutt Productions, Prasthaanam went on floors in Lucknow on June 1, which also happens to be Dutt’s mother Nargis Dutt’s 89th birth anniversary.

Helmed by Deva Katta, who directed the original Telugu film, the project marks the revival of Sanjay’s home banner, Sanjay Dutt Productions.

Airports across Chennai and Kuala Lumpur are witnessing unprecedented crowds as thousands of Vijay fans travel to Malaysia for the grand audio launch of his purported final film, Jana Nayagan, scheduled for December (27) at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

Videos and photos circulating on social media show packed terminals with fans filling flights bound for Kuala Lumpur. The senior manager operations at Divo Movies in Chennai described the surge as "completely unplanned," noting that flights to the Malaysian capital are "exclusively filled with Thalapathy Vijay fans."
