Anil Kapoor and Shekhar Kapur are teaming up once again for a film, and we hope it’s Mr. India 2

1987 release Mr. India starring Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and Amrish Puri is undoubtedly one of the best films made in the history of Bollywood. The movie directed by Shekhar Kapur is still loved by audiences when aired on TV. The reports about Mr. India 2 have been doing the rounds from the past many years, but the movie is yet to go on floors.

Recently, Shekhar Kapur and Anil Kapoor took to Twitter to inform everyone that they collaborating once again. But they have left us with a question whether the project they are talking about is Mr. India 2 or something else.

Kapur tweeted, “Discusssing the look for the next Mr India 2, or another movie together? You tell them @AnilKapoor !”

Then Anil Kapoor tweeted, “Feels like déjà vu! @shekharkapur & I are deep in discussion about something new and super exciting! We're hoping to create the same magic we did before with Mr. India...The cap adjustment was lucky then, and it might do the trick this time as well! ?”

Now we are super keen to know whether this project they are talking about is Mr. India 2 or some other movie. By the way, if it is Mr. India 2, then we will surely miss our very own Ms. Hawa Hawai on the big screen.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
