All is not well between Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt?

Buzz has it that everything is not hunky-dory between Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Both the actresses used to be buddies once, but things have turned sour between them now. According to reports, Kaif is miffed with Bhatt because she chose love over friendship.

Didn’t you get us? Well, we are talking about Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s torrid affair which has been the talk of the town for months now. If reports are to be believed, Katrina is not happy with the fact that Alia decided to date Kapoor, whom she had dated for over five years before calling it quits in 2015.

Confirming the same, a source reveals to an entertainment portal, “It’s not that Alia and Katrina cannot see eye to eye but they are not friends for sure. The two came under one roof last night (on Tuesday) and exchanged pleasantries, that’s all. They even clicked a picture together, however, clearly, hung around in different groups and the cold vibes between them were palpable to those around them. Katrina exited the party before Alia.”

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are currently shooting for Karan Johar’s much ambitious project Brahmastra. Speculations are rife that the rumoured couple might walk down the aisle in 2019.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
