Alia Bhatt likely to join the team of RRR from November 2

By: Mohnish Singh

Alia Bhatt, who was most recently seen in her home production Sadak 2 (2020), currently has several high-profile films at various stages of development, including celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited magnum opus, RRR.

The shoot of the film resumed earlier this month in Hyderabad and has been happening non-stop. Both Ram Charan and Jr NTR have joined the sets to shoot some of their key scenes in the movie. And if fresh reports are to be believed, Alia Bhatt is set to join the team from November 2. The actress, who plays an extended cameo in the movie, is making her Tollywood debut with RRR.

RRR is being touted as one of the biggest films set to hit theatres in 2021. Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has been working assiduously on the project right after the release of his mega-blockbuster Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017).

While Telugu superstars Jr NTR and Ram Charan play lead roles in the film, Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt have important cameos. Actress Shriya Saran also appears in a small but significant role.

Bhatt is expected to land in Hyderabad over the weekend and start filming for her portions in RRR. The film is being made on a humongous budget and will release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The makers are planning to dub it in several foreign languages as well.

RRR is a fictional period story based on the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Presented by D Parvathy, the movie is being produced under the banner of DVV Entertainments by DVV Danayya. It will release in 10 Indian languages next year.

The official new release date of the film is expected to be announced soon by the makers. Keep visiting this space for more updates from the world of entertainment.

You arrive in Kochi, and it feels like the sea air makes everything slightly sharper; faces in the city look purposeful, a film poster peels at the corner of a wall. In a city that has cradled a thriving film industry for decades, a single crime on the night of 17 February 2017 ruptured the ordinary: an abduction, a recorded sexual assault and a survivor who reported it the next day. What happened next is every woman’s unspoken nightmare, weaponised into brutal reality. It was a public unpeeling of an industry’s power structures, a slow-motion fight over evidence and testimony, and a national debate about how institutions protect (or fail) women.

For over eight years, her fight for justice became a mirror held up to an entire industry and a society. It was a journey from the dark confines of that car to the glaring lights of a courtroom, from being a silenced victim to becoming a defiant survivor whose voice sparked a revolution. This is not just the story of a crime. It is the story of what happens when one woman says, "Enough," and the tremors that follow.
