Ajay Devgn-Ranbir Kapoor starrer delayed by a year?

It has been more than one year since hit filmmaker Luv Ranjan announced his next project with superstar Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor in lead roles. Fans have been waiting for further development on the project for all these months, but the untitled movie is yet to mount the shooting floor. The latest we hear that the film could be put back by another year.

An Indian tabloid reports that reigning Bollywood queen Deepika Padukone is also expected to join Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor on the cast of the film. Since the Padmaavat (2018) star has her hands full with several other projects, Luv Ranjan’s film may take some time in beginning the production. Moreover, Ajay and Ranbir are also busy with their respective projects.

“According to the original plan, the film was expected to kick-off this year. But the script is yet to be locked. Couple that with the lead actors’ chock-a-block schedule and the film has been pushed by a year now. Ranbir is busy with Brahmastra and then Shamshera. Ajay, on his part, has a spate of films lined up including Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Bhuj: The Pride Of India and the football film,” a source in the know reveals to the tabloid.

The source goes on to add, “Luv will utilise the time to finish the final draft and take it on floors by mid-2020. There is no truth to the allegations that the film has been shelved owing to his #MeToo complaint. Ranjan came clean on the matter and apologised for his said misconduct, citing that it was never his intent.”

More updates are awaited.
