After Udham Singh biopic, Irrfan Khan to reteam with Homi Adajania?

While National Film Award-winning actor Irrfan Khan is presently undergoing cancer treatment in London, his fans across the world are waiting for the moment when their favourite actor is declared cancer-free and resumes work.

Irrfan, who is reportedly responding well to his treatment, has been approached by a number of filmmakers lately. He has even signed ace director Shoojit Sircar’s next film which is a biopic on freedom fighter Udham Singh.

The latest buzz has it that after wrapping up Sircar’s film, Khan might do a film with filmmaker Homi Adajania. The actor is in talks with the director and if things fall into place, he will sign the project on the dotted line very soon.

“Irrfan has heard the idea and liked the concept but is yet to sign on the dotted line. Irrfan and Homi have been wanting to work together for a long time and finally seems to have found a script they both like,” a source reveals.

Irrfan Khan is also rumoured to be doing a sequel to his 2017 film Hindi Medium. However, the makers are first waiting for the actor to return home before making any announcement.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
