After 2.0, Shankar to start Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan in December

Known as one of the finest filmmakers in Indian cinema, Shankar is presently busy with promotions of his upcoming release 2.0. Starring Rajinikanth and Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar in lead roles, the movie is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Robot and is being touted as the costliest film to have ever come out of the stable of the Indian film industry.

Right after the release of 2.0 on 29th November, Shankar will start shooting for his next film, Indian 2. As the title suggests itself, the movie is a sequel to his National award-winning film Indian, starring Kamal Haasan, Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar in lead role.


While Kamal Haasan has been confirmed to headline the sequel, Shankar says that his team will lock the rest of the cast soon and after that, the shoot will begin in December.

“We have signed Kamal Haasan for Indian 2. Once 2.0 releases, we will go ahead and finalise the rest of the cast which could be drawn from Bollywood or the regional film industry. We start shooting in December,” said Shankar.

Adele is finally making her move into films. The singer will appear in Cry to Heaven, the third feature from fashion designer and director Tom Ford. The story comes from Anne Rice’s novel set in 18th century Italy and follows two men brought together by music, a Venetian nobleman and a castrato singer from Calabria.
