Adhyayan Suman: I used to go to these A-lister parties where drug was the cool thing to have

After NCB probed into Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, there have been a lot of discussions about Bollywood celebs consuming drugs. Drug abuse in the industry has become the talk of the town.

We recently interacted with Adhyayan Suman and asked him what he has to say about it. To which, the actor said, “Whoever decided to bring the elephant out of the bag, I think it’s out of the bag now. Drugs are not something that has started in the industry right now, people have been doing drugs for the longest time. Initially, when I had started off and Raaz (Raaz 2) had done well, I used to go to these A-lister parties where drug was the cool thing to have. But in the last eight years, I haven’t been to any of these parties because I realised that I am not a part of this group. Everyone in the industry does not do drugs, I won’t agree with that. But there are some people, there are a group of people who want to do drugs and at the end of the day, it’s their call. But, forcing people or influencing people is a wrong thing to do which is something I am very against.”

“There are so many people who are aspiring to become actors and have somehow managed to get into that group. Eventually, they start doing drugs because they feel that if we don’t take drugs we won’t be in that circuit. If they are not in the circuit, they will not get their big break. I have seen it, and it’s very sad that people think that if we do drugs and roam around in parties we will get work. It’s a wrong perception. I am not telling about myself, but even if you have one scene in one decent project it can get you noticed in the entire country or the world. Talent is talent, it will find its place somehow,” Adhyayan added.

The actor is currently busy garnering praises for his performance as Tinka Singh in the web series Aashram. Directed by Prakash Jha, the series also stars Bobby Deol, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Sachin Shroff, and Aaditi Pohankar.

When AI takes over podcasts human creators are struggling to keep up

AI podcasts flood the internet threatening independent creators and reshaping a $39 billion audio industry

Highlights:

  • AI can make thousands of podcast episodes every week with very few people.
  • Making an AI podcast episode costs almost nothing and can make money fast.
  • Small podcasters cannot get noticed. It is hard for them to earn.
  • Advertisements go to AI shows. Human shows get ignored.
  • Listeners do not mind AI. Some like it.

A company can now publish thousands of podcasts a week with almost no people. That fact alone should wake up anyone who makes money from talking into a mic.

The company now turns out roughly 3,000 episodes a week with a team of eight. Each episode costs about £0.75 (₹88.64) to make. With as few as 20 listens, an episode can cover its cost. That single line explains why the rest of this story is happening.
