When doctors put water on Malti

Chhapaak is based on the life of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor. Deepika’s character in the film has been named as Malti. The sequence where doctors are putting water on her looks like a scene after the attack took place. Deepika is excellent in the scene making us feel the pain the character is going through.

In the background, we hear a character saying, “It’s important ke Malti ab sirf apna naya chehra dekhe surgery ke baad.” But well, we get to see a scene where Malti sees her face for the first time after the attack and the way she shouts it will surely scare you.

When Malti decides to pack her jewellery

In a scene, Malti is seen trying to wear some jewellery post the attack, but she can’t and she starts putting the jewellery in a bag, to which a character asks her, “Sab kuch hie rakh degi kya.” Malti replies, “Naak nahi hai, kaan nahi hai, jhumke kaha latkaongi.” The scene clearly shows the emotional pain that an acid attack victim goes through.

When a child gets scared after seeing Malti

In a scene, Malti is seen looking at a kid who is planting a tree, but when the kid looks at her, he gets scared and shouts loudly. Malti who was smiling looking at the kid gets shocked.

When Malti takes off the dupatta from her face

The last scene in the trailer is when Malti is walking out of the court and she takes off the dupatta from her face with the dialogue in the background, “Unhone meri soorat badly hai, mera mann nahi.”  You would surely like to applaud the courage of Malti here…
