Vidya Balan on 2 years of Tumhari Sulu: I continue to receive love for it

Vidya Balan starrer Tumhari Sulu released on 17th November 2017. The film was a hit at the box office and Vidya won many awards for her performance in the film.

Well, after giving back-to-back six to seven flops, Vidya finally had a hit with Tumhari Sulu. As the film completes 2 years of its release today, Vidya took to Instagram to thank Sulu for re-affirming the belief in her that she can do it.

She posted, “Thankoo #Sulu for re-affirming my belief that #MainKarSaktiHai ?. 2 years to the release of #TumhariSulu today and i continue to receive love for it...Ever so grateful to all of you ♥️?... and to YOU ? @sureshtriveni @ellipsisentertainment @findingshanti @atulkasbekar @tanuj.garg @vjymaurya @saurabh_goswami13 @bhushankumar @manavkaul @nehadhupia @mymalishka @abhisheksharrma9 @seemasindhutwins @sandhu_aditi @priyanka2201 @shre20 @bhosleshalaka @rickroyco @dharajain @sanchitatrivedi @shalivanpatil and the entire team ??!! Well, after Tumhari Sulu, Vidya starred in this year’s release Mission Mangal which became a blockbuster at the box office. While it was a multi-starrer, Vidya stood out and gave a fantastic performance.

She will next be seen on the big screen in Shakuntala Devi – Human Computer, a biopic on mathematician and writer Shakuntala Devi. The movie, which also stars Sanya Malhotra, Amit Sadh and Jisshu Sengupta, is slated to release in Summer 2020. We are sure Vidya will once again prove her mettle as an actress in the film.

The actress will also be featuring in a project as Indira Gandhi, but it is yet to be decided that it will be a movie or a web series. Looks like biopics are surely something that is attracting Vidya a lot. One of her biggest hits to date is The Dirty Picture which was a biopic on South siren, Silk Smitha.

Scotch whisky production slows as tariffs and weak demand bite

Highlights

  • American tariffs adding 10 per cent to costs, with further 25 per cent charge on single malts expected next spring.
  • Barley demand slumped from up to 1 million tonnes to 600-700,000 tonnes expected next year.
  • Major distilleries including Glenmorangie and Teaninich have paused production for months.
Scotland's whisky industry is facing a sharp downturn in production as it adapts to challenging market conditions worldwide, with US tariffs and weakening global demand forcing major distilleries to halt operations.

Tariffs introduced under the Trump administration have added 10 per cent to importers' costs in the industry's biggest export market.

American tariffs on single malts, suspended four years ago, are expected to return next spring with a further 25 per cent charge unless a deal is reached.
