Veteran actress Aruna Irani signs a historical show

After staying away from showbiz for almost two years, veteran actress Aruna Irani made her comeback to television with the Sony Entertainment show, Porus. And now, she has bagged another historical show called Mughal –E – Azam.

To be produced by Anirudh Pathak, the upcoming magnum opus is being made on a lavish budget. The makers are trying their best to put together a cast that could grab audiences’ attention almost immediately.

Irani has been cast to play a pivotal part in the historical show. According to sources, she has been roped in to play the character of Hamida Banu Begum aka Maryam Makani, the wife of Mughal Emperor Humayun and mother of Akbar. The seasoned actress will be the grandmother of actor Shaheer Sheikh, who essays the role of Salim on the soap.

Anirudh Pathak’s ongoing shows, Prithvi Vallabh and Chandra Shekhar Azad, have been praised by the audience for their in-depth research and accuracy. We hope his next show also hits the home run.

Mughal –E – Azam is slated to hit the airwaves on Colors.

  • 12 Monkeys and The Sixth Sense also rank among his strongest-reviewed films
  • The list spans sci-fi thrillers, supernatural mysteries, neo-noir and action films

Bruce Willis will always be associated with John McClane, but Die Hard is hardly the only place where the actor made his mark on the thriller genre.

Across the 1990s and 2000s, Willis moved between time-travel mysteries, supernatural dramas, neo-noirs and action thrillers, often using the same understated intensity that made him such a recognisable screen presence. Rotten Tomatoes scores show that some of his most highly regarded work came when he stepped away from the role of the conventional action hero.
