Varun Dhawan denies rumours of toplining brother’s next

Varun Dhawan, who won loads of appreciation and adulation for his impassioned performance in the Shoojit Sircar directorial October (2018), has a lot of exciting projects on his plate. Recently, there were rumours that the Student Of The Year (2012) actor has also signed his brother Rohit Dhawan’s next after starring in his last hit Dishoom (2016) alongside John Abraham.

However, Varun has denied rumours that he is reteaming with brother to headline his next directorial venture. An Indian daily reports that though the movie was offered to Junior Dhawan, he could not take it up due to his busy schedule.

“No, I am not in my brother’s next film. He’s making it with an entirely different cast. We don’t have to work together in every film. I wasn’t in his first film Desi Boyz (2011) either. In fact, I’ve only done one film with him, Dishoom, and I had a ball. We’ll work together soon, but not on his next film.”

Varun is currently shooting for Abhishek Verman’s period drama Kalank and Sharat Katariya’s Sui Dhaaga. The other projects in his pocket include Shashank Khaitan’s war drama Rannbhoomi and an untitled movie with Remo D’souza.

Charli XCX has gone beyond the glitz to expose the sexism female pop stars still face. In a candid essay, she said that no matter what a woman does in pop music, someone will label it the wrong way. Sexy becomes “whore,” rebellious becomes “drug addict,” smart becomes “pretentious.” Her reflections also touch on the hidden side of touring life, showing that fame isn’t just lights and parties, it’s long waits, chaotic travel, and constant scrutiny.
