Varun and Sara to kick-off Coolie No. 1 shoot in Bangkok from August

Starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles, Coolie No. 1 is one of the hotly anticipated comic-capers of 2020. The project was officially announced on 24th April, on the occasion of Varun Dhawan’s 33rd birthday.

Ever since the official announcement, Varun’s father and filmmaker David Dhawan has been recceing the locations to shoot the film. After more than a month, it seems like his search has come to an end.

If fresh reports are to be believed, Coolie No. 1 will mount the shooting floor in the month of August. The first schedule of the film will take place in Bangkok. After wrapping the first schedule in Bangkok, the team will fly back to India to shoot in Goa. Sara Ali Khan will join the team during the Goa schedule of the film.

“The idea this time too is the same as filming abroad gives the film a fresh vibe. The basic premise of a coolie caught between two girls remains the same but there are many new changes in the screenplay for it to appeal to today’s audience,” a source reveals.

Coolie No. 1 is the remake of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor’s 1995 film of the same name. The remake is set to roll into theatres on 1st May, 2020.
