Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad gets a new release date

Taapsee Pannu is undoubtedly one of the most talented actresses of Bollywood. In 2019, she gave fantastic performances in films like Badla, Game Over, Mission Mangal and Saand Ki Aankh. Well, the actress has some interesting films in her kitty and one of them is Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad.

The movie was slated to release on 6th March 2020 during the International Women’s Day weekend. However, it has been preponed and it will now hit the screens on 28th February 2020. Taapsee took to Instagram to inform her fans about it. She posted, “‪#Thappad  ‪Reuniting with the man who has taken ‘reinventing’ to some other level.... @anubhavsinhaa ,  ‪looking forward to show you all on  ‪28 Feb 2020. ‪Produced by @bhushankumar & @anubhavsinhaa ,  ‪Thappad will release on 28 Feb,2020 @tseriesfilms ‪ #BenarasMediaWorks.”

This will be Taapsee and director Anubhav Sinha’s second collaboration. In 2018, the two worked together in the film Mulk which was an awesome movie and Taapsee had given a fantastic performance in it. Well, Thappad also seems to be a very interesting film and looking at Sinha’s previous few films (Mulk and Article 15), we surely have high expectations from the movie.

Apart from Thappad, Taapsee has movies like Shabaash Mithu (a biopic on cricketer Mithali Raj) and Rashmi Rocket. All the three films are slated to release in 2020. We can clearly say that just like 2019, 2020 will also be a great year for Taapsee Pannu.

Daal, diaspora and climate change: Are cultural recipes the solution?

I’m Mareyah, a sustainability strategist and passionate home cook, exploring the links between climate, culture and food. Drawing on my Pakistani heritage, I champion the value of traditional knowledge and everyday cooking as a powerful - yet often overlooked - tool for climate action. My work focuses on making sustainability accessible by celebrating the flavours, stories and practices that have been passed down through generations.

As someone who grew up surrounded by the flavours and stories of my Pakistani heritage, food has always been more than nourishment - it’s about connections, culture and memory. It’s one of the only things that unites us all. We cook it, eat it and talk about it every day, even if our ingredients and traditions differ. We live in a world where climate change is a looming threat, and we’re constantly seeing images of crises and mentions of highly technical or political answers. But, what if one of the solutions was closer to home?
