According to reports, the much-delayed biopic on one of Indian cinema's most iconic actresses Meena Kumari is finally happening as the makers have found an actress who can portray the eventful life of the veteran Pakeezah actress on celluloid.
Reportedly, Sunny Leone, who was last seen in Tera Interzaar opposite Arbaaz Khan, has been roped in to step into the mighty shoes of Meena Kumari. Though no official confirmation has been made in this regards, sources claim that Leone is onboard.
The biopic on Meena Kumari has been in the news for a long time now. Initially, it was offered to talented actress Vidya Balan. However, she turned down the film as she was not ready to do a serious role at this point in time.
“I narrated her something but at the moment she is wanting to do something that’s non-serious. She has had too much of serious stuff. We spoke at length. Maybe tomorrow, I may have that kind of a script for her. But at the moment, I wanted her to play the role of an actress of the 1960s. The film dealt with alcoholism and tragedy,” said filmmaker Karan Razdan, who is directing the biopic.
